Fresh report reaching NEWS FLAKES NG as at PRESS TIME has it that Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday morning.

Dino Melaye confirmed the arrest via his Twitter handle, @dino_melaye. He said “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Government after checking in.”

Melaye later narrated how he was arrested to Premium Times saying he was blocked as he tried to undergo security and immigration screening but had to “snatch back” his passport from the official who confiscated it and proceeded to board his flight.

“But I was then cycled by police officers trying to hold me and saying I’m on Interpol wanted list.”

“So we are here,a standoff at a public place at our international airport. We are here.” Melaye told the online medium.

His arrest may not be unconnected with his refusal to report before the police for questioning over allegations of illegally arming youths who work for him and other politicians in Kogi state as political thugs.
