Fresh report reaching NEWS FLAKES NG as at PRESS TIME has it that Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki has announced he is leaving the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria’s ruling party.
Saraki made the announcement on the micro-blogging, Twitter on Tuesday evening, July 31.
The Senate President tweeted: “I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
His defection will be coming a week after 14 Senators and 37 House of Representatives members dumped the ruling party.
In a related development, Kwara governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has also announced his much anticipated return to his former party, People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
There has been growing speculations in some close quarters that the governor was among the list of aggrieved APC governors said to defect to the main opposition PDP later this week following series of meetings with some PDP leaders together with the Senate President.
