The Chief of Staff to Gov. Ibikunle Amosun, Chief Tolu Odebiyi and the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Afolabi Afuape on Friday resigned their appointment.
Odebiyi, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ogun West , expressed deep appreciation to the governor for the opportunity given him to serve the people of Ogun State.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Abeokuta,
Odebiyi expressed gratitude to members of the State Executive Council for their support and cooperation during the period he served as the Chief of Staff.
He noted that he resigned from his position to pursue his Senatorial ambition.
The former Chief of Staff said he was pleased with the confidence Senator Amosun reposed in him by the appointment and the process that led to his emergence as the APC Senatorial Candidate.
He described Amosun as a visionary leader who impacted positively on the socio-economic development of the state.
Odebiyi vowed to make the progress of Ogun State paramount in all his future considerations.
He thanked the good people of Ogun State for their support and opportunity he was given to serve.
In his acceptance message in a statement signed by the Director of Administration and Supplies, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Office of the Governor, Mr. Samuel Oluwasanmi, Amosun said that the officials had requested to disengage immediately, to enable them pursue their respective political ambitions.
Others are Messrs. Lanre Edun; Tola Banjo; Bolanle Gbeleyi; Muse Lamidi; Bayo Adeyemi; Sunday Bamiwola; Dewunmi Onanuga; and Sola Arobieke.
He thanked them for their services to the State and also wished them well in their future endeavours.
