Fresh report reaching NEWS FLAKES NG as at PRESS TIME has it that Officials of the Student Union Electoral Committee (SULECO) of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta have cleared the air about the whereabouts of the Committee Chairman, Lekan Adeniji who was earlier reported missing.
The Committee Executive members in a recent release carrying the names of Famuyiwa Hammed and Omojola Olawale, the General Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively, claimed that the Electoral Committee Chairman suddenly felt ill and was summoned home by his parents earlier today as against widely circulated reports of him missing and being kidnapped.
The release which is however silent on whether or not the canceled election that was earlier scheduled to hold today will be rescheduled, also added that the ongoing “rumours” should be ignored as the Chairman was fast recuperating.
See Full Content of release below as obtained by NEWS FLAKES NG:
“Please disregard all information about the SUELECO Chairman being kidnapped.
The SUELECO chairman was not kidnapped, his absence from the election ground was due to his personal health issue of which we got a call from his mum and with that we were able to locate him.
Further more, the SUELECO TEAM and the School Management met with the SUELECO Chairman some hours ago and now he is getting better and we guarantee that he is safe.
Please disregard the rumor that “The SUELECO Chairman was kidnapped”
SUELECO Gen. Sec.
SUELECO P. R. O
Meanwhile, efforts by NEWS FLAKES Correspondent to speak with the “recuperating” Chairman to confirm the recent release proved abortive as at PRESS TIME.
In a related development, the Management of MOSHOOD Abiola Polytechnic has announced the suspension of the 2018/19 students’ union election.
Speaking through the director of students’ affairs, Tpl. Luke the management said the suspension came in lieu of the absence of the Students’ Union Electoral committee (SULECO) chairman, Adeniji Olamilekan.
According to Campus reports, there was rancor earlier at the election ground as a sect of the electorate protested that the elections should not hold in the absence of the chairman just as a part time student (name withheld) was sent away from the election ground.
Recall that NEWS FLAKES NG brought us a breaking report earlier about widespread reports of the alleged missing SUELECO Chairman and the canceled Student Union Elections, as it spread all around social media before this latest development and promised more details thereafter with efforts by our correspondent to reach major stakeholders concerned.
