Fresh report reaching NEWS FLAKES NG as at PRESS TIME has it that the Nigerian Police have this afternoon invaded the home of Senator Dino Melaye in his Abuja.
The information further has it that Melaye has been reportedly captured and arrested by the Police.
Police barricaded the street where the Senator resides at around 12.30 pm.
Melaye’s house which is located at 11 Sangha street, off Mississippi, Maitama was surrounded by the Security operatives.
The Security Operatives said to have successfully arrested the embattled Senator and he would be taken to Lokoja.
In a related development, NEWS FLAKES NG further gathered authoritatively that as the hide-and-seek game between Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi Central District in the National Assembly, and the Nigerian Police Force continues at his residence in Abuja, that the power supply to the lawmaker’s house has been cut off by the security operatives, who have been keeping vigil at the house, prior to the latest reported arrest.
Recall that the Police had invaded Melaye’s house on Friday, over allegations he was culpable in the shooting of a police officer in July 2018.
The Police had also insisted that its officers would wait at the house until the lawmaker surrenders himself.
According to a source, policemen have disconnected the building from the national grid with the view to rendering the home inhabitable.
