ELECTION POSTPONEMENT: Ogun Govt Directs Schools to Resume Monday February 18 [READ MORE]

ABEOKUTA – Following the announcement of the postponement of the much publicised Presidential and National Assembly elections earlier scheduled to hold today Saturday February 16, 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Ogun State government has hereby directed all secondary and primary schools in the state to resume on Monday February 18, 2019 as against the earlier slated date of Tuesday February 19, NEWS FLAKES NG can authoritatively report.

This was contained in a news release from the state’s ministry of Education, Science and Technology and undersigned by its Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed.

The release which now nullifies the earlier one however added that “Schools are to proceed on holiday on Friday February 22nd and resume on Monday 25th February, 2019”. 

NEWS FLAKES NG also gathered according to the release that “schools are to close on February 8th March and resume on Tuesday 12th March, 2019”, for the gubernatorial and state assemblies elections as now fixed by INEC while advising parents and guardians to take very good care of their wards and families during the holidays.

Recall that INEC has shifted the Presidential and National Assembly elections to Saturday February 23rd while that of the Gubernatorial and State Assemblies elections earlier scheduled to hold on March 2, will now take place on March 9, 2019.
