BREAKING: Hon. Oluomo Emerges As New Ogun Speaker, Sues for Peace

ABEOKUTA – In what could be described as an internal arrangement, a third – term Member, Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ifo state constituency I, Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo was on Monday nominated unopposed as the Speaker of the State Assembly.

Also Hon. Dare Kadiri representing Ijebu-north II state constituency was equally nominated unopposed as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

NEWS FLAKES NG gathers that the new Speaker and Deputy were nominated by Hon. Babatunde Sobukonla from Ikenne State Constituency and seconded by Hon. Adegoke Olusesi from Yewa North constituency II.

The 9th Assembly was inaugurated by the Deputy Clerk of the House, Mr. Adedeji Adeyemo following the absence of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who had earlier sent a proclamation letter.

In his acceptance speech, the new speaker promised to sustain the existing peace among the lawmakers for the development of the state.

He also promised to promote mutual understanding between the executive and legislature in order to achieve the vision of the new government towards the development of the state.

Hon. Oluomo urged his colleagues to support the new administration in order to justify the confidence reposed on them by the electorate towards delivery abundant dividends of democracy and maintain peace among the three tiers of government.

The House therefore adjourned for 30-minutes to reconvene later.
