BREAKING: Super Eagles defeat S/Africa 2-1 to Qualify for AFCON Semi-finals

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the quarter finals by two goals to one to book their place into the semi finals of the ongoing TOTAL African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

With goals from Samuel Chukwueze and defender Williams Troost Ekong, the Super Eagles will be gunning for their fourth AFCON title as the tournament progresses in Egypt.

Bongani Zungu cancelled out Chukwueze’s opener in the 79th minute before Ekong scored in the 87th minute to give the eagles a victory against the South African side for a place in the last four of the AFCON tournament.

South Africa had knocked out host country, Egypt in the round of 16 by 1-0 to set up a quarter final clash with the Super Eagles with the hope of advancing further before meeting their waterloo today at the Cairo international stadium thus bringing their journey to an abrupt end.
