[SARS Clash]: TASUED Students defend VC, Say ‘he is not in support of cyber crimes’

Prior to the reports making rounds that Tasued VC is showing support to yahoo guys in the institution after he ordered the students of the institution to drive out SARS officers from the school premises, which saw the students of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, yesterday clash with men of Special Anti Robbery Squad and burnt their operation vehicle.

However, TASUEDSU transport director (big show) has now said that Tasued vice chancellor is not trying to support internet fraudsters but trying to make the police understand the fact that they can’t just come inside the school compound and harass students.

It was gathered that the confrontation occurred within the university campus when the students prevented the SARS operatives from arresting some if their colleagues.

Some of the eyewitnesses who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the trouble started when the team of SARS pursued some students into the campus.

It was gathered that the SARS Officers claimed the students on pursuit were suspected to be students engaging in cyber fraud and attempted to arrest them.

They reportedly pursued the students from Ijebu-Ode to the Ijegun campus where the students entered the school and escaped through the help of their colleagues.

It was further gathered that the students blocked the operatives’ vehicle, forcing the operatives to shoot into the air several times to disperse the students.

The students reportedly resisted their colleagues’ arrest, vandalised the Toyota Camry car used as SARS operational vehicle, and then set it ablaze.
