Unidentified gunmen kill 19 people in central Nigeria

At least 19 people were killed by unidentified gunmen in a night-time raid on a rural community in central Nigeria on Friday, according to police. The attackers torched houses and other buildings of the Tawari community in Kogi state, 100km (60 miles) south of the capital Abuja. BENIN – Unknown gunmen have stormed the family house of Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu on Saturday, December 28. Shaihu who comes from Jattu in Estako West local government area built his country home opposite his family house, The Nation reports. Gunmen kill OAU Professor in Benin City

  Unknown gunmen have killed a senior lecturer of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Friday in Edo state. Professor Jerome Elusiyan who was the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), was shot dead during the attack while his driver, the second person in his vehicle sustained gunshot injuries.
