Thieves break into Bayelsa gov’s office, over N.8b missing

Seven Policemen attached to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Bayelsa State Government House, Mrs. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown have been arrested over their alleged involvement in the theft of N800million from the office. The alleged theft, which occurred on Wednesday night, was discovered on Thursday morning and the safe where the cash was kept was reportedly vandalised. Anxiety As Another Pipeline Explosion Hit Lagos

  A pipeline explosion has occurred at Gloryland Estate, Isheri Olofin area of Lagos on Thursday morning. Residents lamented that the incident is the third from the area. Court Orders Saraki, Akpabio, Fayemi, Others To Return Pensions Received As Former-Governors

  Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Federal Government to recover pensions collected by former governors serving as ministers and members of the National Assembly. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) said it obtained the certified true copy of the judgment on Tuesday delivered by Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo. The judgment was, however, read out last week following order of mandamus filed by SERAP in suit number FHC/L/CS/1497/2017. The court also directed the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to challenge the legality of states’ pension laws permitting former governors and other ex-public officials to collect such pensions.
