2019 African Drum Festival: Ogun Set to Host 21 Countries, 71 Independent Participants, Others

ABEOKUTA – Not less 21 African countries, 23 troupes and 71 independent participants will feature at the 2019 edition of African Drum Festival annually held in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. The drum festival according to the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee who is also the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, about 26 states of the federation have also signified interest in participating in this year’s edition. Six Persons Escape Death in Ogun As Timber-laden Tipper Collides With Taxi [SEE PHOTOS]

A timber-ladden Tipper with numberplate XB 202 TT yesterday crushed a RAV4 Car and a Taxi car filled with passengers at Sunny Yinka Filling Station, leme, Abeokuta in Ogun State while trying to avoid a trailer that was coming out of the filling station. According to eyewitnesses, the driver and passengers in the taxi sustained injuries and have been taken to the hospital for treatment while the owner of the RAV escaped unscathed. Tragedy strucked over the weekend as a private Lexus Jeep on Sunday plunged into the river on Ijebu-Ode/Benin Expressway, killing a woman and injuring her daughter, an official has said.
