COVID-19: Confirmed Cases in Ogun rise to 20 from 12 within 24hrs

NEWS FLAKES NG gathers that the total number of confirmed cases in Ogun State has taken a leap from twelve to twenty within the last 24 hours.

 

This is as a result of the confirmation of eight new cases in the state as announced few moments by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC. 

 

NEWS FLAKES NG reports that the NCDC in its update via its official Twitter handle reported that three new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ogun state as at 11:25 pm on Tuesday.

 

The NCDC had earlier explained that five cases previously reported for Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State.

 

In a break down of the new cases of COVID-19 in the country, NCDC disclosed that 117 new cases were recorded in different parts of the country.

 

According to the agency, 59 cases were recorded in Lagos, 29 and 14 were recorded in Federal Capital Territory and Kano respectively.

 

The report also added that Borno recorded six cases, while Katstina recorded four new cases.

 

Also, Rivers and Bauchi states recorded one case each, while Ogun recorded three new cases.

 

According to the report, five cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State

 

It added, “Therefore, Lagos has reported 430 confirmed cases while Ogun has reported 20 confirmed cases.”

59 in Lagos

29 in FCT

14 in Kano

6 in Borno

4 in Katsina

3 in Ogun

1 in Rivers

1 in Bauchi

 

As at 11:25 pm 21st April there are 782 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Recall that as part of plans to curb the continued spread of the dreaded virus, the Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State had recently ordered the compulsory wearing of face masks by residents of the state as well as strict compliance of the lockdown order extended by President Muhammadu Buhari with few relaxation periods.
