ABEOKUTA— A landlord resident in Dublin, Republic of Ireland has told tenants at his property located in Oke Mosan area of Abeokuta, Ogun State to hold on to their rents for the next three months.
The landlord, Mr Ridwan Akinyemi speaking via the phone said having considered the effects of covid-19 and the attendant lockdown implications in major cities in the country, he decided that it is best to cushion the effects on his tenants back home in Nigeria.
Mr Akinyemi said that as part of his contribution to assist his tenants come out strong at the end of the pandemic, he decided to take the decision.

“The global pandemic has ravaged the whole world and nobody is left out. Even the rich are affected one way or the other, so we need to support each other at this critical time”.
“The lockdown has not helped matters as all avenue of income has been shut down so it may be difficult for people to meet their needs at this time”, he said.
Mr Akinyemi further stated that citizens should adhere strictly to all health measures, adding that it is the only known ‘cure’ and prevention of the dreaded novel coronavirus for now. (The NewsVille)
