OGUN - The Ijebu-Igbo Council of Elders has removed embattled Ogun People's Democratic Party, PDP chieftain, Engr Bayo Dayo as the association's Chairman.

The decision was made known in a recent official letter dated 4th May, 2020 and specifically requesting that Engr Dayo steps down from the position forthwith.

NEWS FLAKES NG reports that the council while appreciating Engr Dayo's contributions to the group during his tenure as chairman, cited his alleged partisanship and unending political rifts amongst other offences listed that could divide the membership of the council and the entire Orimolusi Kingdom along political lines, as basis for its decision, and as ratified by the council's Board of Trustees.

He was therefore asked to vacate his office with immediate effect.

The letter reads in part;

"First and foremost, we wish to place on record our deep appreciation of your activities during your tenure as the Chairman of ICE. For these we remain grateful to you.

" However, your active involvement in partisan politics and the ongoing political imbroglio in which you are deeply enmeshed, and having weighed the possibility of such as capable of bruising our collective sensibilities as a foremost group and the voice of the Ijebu Igbo Kingdom; the Board of Trustees (B O T) of this Council, arising from an emergency ZOOM meeting, resolved that you should in the meantime, step down forthwith us as the Council’s Chairman."

"Please note that by this action, the B O T is not being judgmental, rather the B O T, a strictly non-political organization feels that it will not be healthy for the ICE or ICE B O T if its Chairman and members are embroiled in controversial and unhealthy partisan political issues that could divide the membership of the Council and the Orimolusi Kingdom along political lines.

"We therefore wish and direct that, as a matter of honor and decency, you vacate your office".

Recall that NEWS FLAKES NG had reported that Engr Bayo Dayo who had been engulfed in unending rifts and media war with former senator representing Ijebu East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu especially over the control of the party structures of the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a situation that equally saw him removed as the Chairman of the state chapter of the party over alleged anti - party activities.
