I personally discussed ways forward with the CDAs Chairmen and their CDC Chairmen and today Ifo has been enjoying tranquility. ”Well, I want to say that there have not occurred any armed robbery since the lockdown order has been announced though fear has made our people to raise Alarm here and there. In Vigilante Group of Nigeria Ogun State Command we have contributed immensely by participating in provision of security to our people as well as enforcement of the order by both the federal government and the state government” He concluded
While responding to a question on why they have not be active for sometimes, he submitted that there is no time we are not working.
”One of the principles policing as propounded by Sir Robert Peel is what we followed which says the presence of security personnel is not the measurement for effective policing but absence of crime.
”We in VGN have adopted a lot of strategies we learnt abroad in places like United Arab Emirate, Czech Republic, India, Poland and Isreal to carry out our activities without abusing the fundamental human rights of the masses. It’s just that the lockdown order demands extra effort from us and that is why we are giving it what it requires and that is one of the method of Community Policing”
Adedoyin reitereated his commitment to see Ogun State at all times as a peaceful State free of crimes and all forms of criminalities.
”Our people in Ogun State should sleep with their two eyes closed without fear and unnecessary alarm. In VGN, we are saying no to crime and maintain zero tolerance for criminalities. (national standard)
